Rolls Royce Silver Cloud II 1960
56000 miles only and one family owned from 1964. Fabulous and highly original

The discerning collector appreciates that a car is only original once and how special an untouched original interior is and that something is lost forever once a car has been retrimmed with modern materials which can never look or smell quite the same as the original. The discerning collector must also wonder what kind of life a car must have led if the interior needed to be retrimmed .
The interior of this Silver Cloud is not only totally untouched and  original even down to the wood varnish, it is without question one of if not  the finest surviving Silver Cloud interiors in existence and possesses that wonderful aroma and feel good factor that is only found within an original interior. This speaks volumes as to how the car has been treated during its life.

The flawless coachwork is finished in the factory ordered colour scheme of Black Pearl over Mason's Black with gold fine lines. Please view the pictures of the factory build sheets for confirmation of the original colour scheme.

Owned by the same family from 1964 (The late Mr C Snr and shortly after the late Mr C ).
Mr C had a position at Rolls Royce after the war before taking over the running of the family firm.  The Rolls Royce was maintained and MOT'd over the decades by the Rolls Royce factory service centre at Pym's lane Crewe, and additionally by the owner’s company workshop overseen by Mr C, for regular oil changes etc between visits to Rolls Royce. There is much correspondence within the history file from Rolls Royce during this time.

After occasional use in fair weather during the '60's, ''70's and '80's and at less than 56,000 miles, the Silver Cloud was carefully mothballed by the owner, the late Mr C in 1992 within a dehumidified dry garage. Oil and anti-freeze were periodically changed with regular startups to warm through. The leather was regularly fed and furniture polish applied to the original wood finishes.
Due to the advancing years of the long term owner, the late Mr C., a friend whom I had known for over 20 years, the difficult decision was taken to part with the Cloud and I was to be entrusted to become the next custodian and "safe pair of hands" who  could be trusted to recommission, conserve and "future proof" the Rolls Royce for the next chapter.
I have personally carried out every aspect of this work and know this Rolls Royce intimately.

In summary, I believe this Silver Cloud stands alone. A "Rosetta Stone" of Silver Clouds. The interior is in untouched and in stunning " time warp" condition. The paint finish is flawless, and the chrome plating is superb.
The mechanicals are A1 with impressive V8 performance, excellent oil pressure and cool running (please see the pictures of the dashboard gauges). The rear axle is silent, the transmission changes are very smooth and are the best I have experienced on this model.  Excellent original cross hatch boot carpet is present. All the original small and large tools and battery cover are present.
This car is fitted with the correct Dunlop Fort tyres recommended by Rolls Royce which provide the original delicate driving experience and appearance.

This low mileage Rolls Royce is the real thing and not to be confused with the many tired, colour changed, retrimmed, recreations on offer which have usually had many owners with mileage unknown.

I am convinced that this is the finest and most original Silver Cloud on the market. This is the first time this car has been offered for sale in 60 years. Ideal for a discerning Rolls Royce collector.
I have never seen or driven a better Silver Cloud.
